Slovo &#8222;fartlek&#8220; poch\u00e1dza zo \u0161v\u00e9d\u010diny a mo\u017eno ho vo\u013ene prelo\u017ei\u0165 ako &#8222;hra s r\u00fdchlos\u0165ou&#8220;. V kontexte behu ide o formu intervalov\u00e9ho tr\u00e9ningu, pri ktorom sa striedaj\u00fa r\u00fdchlej\u0161ie a pomal\u0161ie \u00faseky, ur\u010den\u00e9 bu\u010f \u010dasom, vzdialenos\u0165ou alebo, ako v pr\u00edpade tepov\u00e9ho aer\u00f3bneho fartleku, srdcovou frekvenciou. Princ\u00edp tepov\u00e9ho aer\u00f3bneho fartleku spo\u010d\u00edva v striedan\u00ed dvoch f\u00e1z. Prv\u00e1 f\u00e1za, naz\u00fdvan\u00e1 aj f\u00e1za vysokej intenzity, sa sna\u017e\u00ed dosiahnu\u0165 a udr\u017ea\u0165 SF na \u00farovni pribli\u017ene 75 % maxima.
